So I finally started my 6 Degrees of Creativity online workshop! Happy is me. 6 Degrees of Creativity is in connection with The Art Therapy Alliance, and is "a community dedicated to art-making & themes exploring transformation, social change, and using art for interactive creative goodness." There are 6 difference workshops led by instructors from the art therapy community. You can find out more about 6 Degrees of Creativity here.
I have just started my first workshop which is called Creative Goodness with Glue Books - led by Gretchen Miller (check out her website here). Gretchen explains how glue books combine art journaling and collage, utilising repurposed materials. She demonstrated how to make several simple glue books. One was made out of brown paper bags and had little pockets in between each page to store things. I didn't have any paper bags so I used A5 envelopes instead. Here is the cover of my glue book:
And here are the little pockets....
I wanted to include something to go in the pocket of each page after it had been created. I liked the idea of including a brief narrative of sorts; maybe a poem, some prose or a short phrase. Somehow this appeals to my childhood; secrets written on scraps of paper and hidden in a tin under the bed or buried in the garden....
This is what shall go in the first pocket:
I love collage so I'm really excited about this workshop. I plan to use my glue book as a way to journal and process my every day life. I want to try my best to work on it most days, as life allows. I'm hoping this will help me connect more to my creativity and will be a good grounding exercise.... (I need a lot of grounding!).

Great to have you part of the workshop Emma and to see your photos again of your first gluebook... Nice to hear more about your intentions in using your book and great idea for what to place inside the pockets.... wonderful!!
